blink1821Its been nearly a week since Punk-Rock band, Blink 182 announced that they will give it another shot and reform. The band has been seperated since 2005. It was at this years Grammy Awards (51st) where all three members (Tom DeLonge – Guitar, Vocals/Mark Hoppus – Bass, Vocals/Travis Barker – Drums, Percussion) apppeared on stage for the first time in 4 years. It was Barker stating “we used to play music together, and we decided we’re going to play music together again,” with Hoppus adding, “Blink-182 is back!”

Blink 182’s website also updated that day confirming the reformationa and also stating that the band is writing new songs and getting ready to record. Blink also is preparing for a world tour. They also updated their famous “smiley face” logo to feature six arrows instead of the previous five to indicate their updating album.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months you might have noticed that Kreape.com was not producing. The cause for that is the fact that there seemed to be no more interest in keeping this site running. The fans that we gained may have left us, but maybe just maybe if they have they will one day type in on the url bar and search our website. Kreape.com is truely sorry to those who continued to support and we did not produce. Hopefully you continue coming back and learn to love our site again. Thanks!

Movie Review: ‘Yes Man’

•December 19, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Yes Man Movie PosterThis past year has been full of great movies and fortunately for moviegoers, the last few weeks of 2008 will be full of some of the best yet to be seen. We have seen some great comedies this year (Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers) but the best one has only just now been released in theaters, and it stars one of my favorite actors, Jim Carrey.

His latest movie ‘Yes Man’ is his first comedy that he has starred in since 2005 when he did ‘Fun with Dick and Jane’, and many thought he was going into a possible retirement from his usual genre of movies, but his latest movie definitely shows that he is back and better than ever.

‘Yes Man’ is the story of Carl Allen (Jim Carrey), a ‘no-man’ who goes through his entire life with a negative outlook, saying no to everything and spending his lonely nights watching movies and ditching on his plans with all of his old buddies. An old friend he knew in high school finds him outside of the bank he works at and persuades him to attend a self-help program entitled ‘Yes Man’, which promotes the use of the simple word, yes. After being called out during the program for being so negative, Carl has no other choice but to start saying yes, and instantly his life begins to change.

Almost instantly in the movie Carl meets a girl he likes named Allison (Zooey Deschanel), by saying yes of course, and he begins to realize that his new positive outlook on life is certainly not a bad thing, and he begins to enjoy the new things he is able to do.

As you go through this life changing process with Carl, you will most definitely begin to think about your own life, and I am sure this movie will change some people and their own outlook on things. It is definitely a movie with a positive message for anyone who sees it.

As I said, I am a huge fan of Jim Carrey and a lot of people thought this seemed just like a movie he did in the past, ‘Liar Liar’. The movie has the same type of idea, but their completely different. It’s hard to say which one is funnier, but throughout this movie I laughed the entire time. If you are a Carrey fan, you will love this movie and if you are not sure, this is a good place to start.

Zooey Deschanel does a wonderful job in the movie and is probably the best female role that has worked aside Jim Carrey since Jennifer Anniston in ‘Bruce Almighty’. The other roles in the movie aren’t played by big named actors, but they all do a great job, and Carl’s boss in the movie is definitely a treat every time he is on the screen.

‘Yes Man’ is rated PG-13, and is definitely approaching an R rating as there is some intense sexual crude humor, language and minor nudity. I will say if you are old enough to see this movie, it is definitely one you want to check out as it is definitely one of the best comedies I have seen in a very long time. It run at a little over an hour and forty minutes, and was released on December 19.

Kreape’s First Look: ‘MILK’

•October 28, 2008 • 3 Comments

In 1977, Harvey Milk was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the first openly gay man to be voted into major public office in America. His victory was not just a victory for gay rights; he forged coalitions across the political spectrum. From senior citizens to union workers, Harvey Milk changed the very nature of what it means to be a fighter for human rights and became, before his untimely death in 1978, a hero for all Americans. Academy Award winner Sean Penn stars as Harvey Milk under the direction of Academy Award nominee Gus Van Sant in MILK, filmed on location in San Francisco from an original screenplay by Dustin Lance Black, and produced by Academy Award winners Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen.

Focus Features releases MILK in select cities on Wednesday, November 26th; and in additional cities on December 5th and 12th.

The film is MPAA-rated “R” (for language, some sexual content, and brief violence) and has a running time of 128 minutes.

* – Indicates Movies Opening Weekend

It should come to a suprise to absolutely no one that ‘High School Musical’ came in first, and right around the dollar amount that they were expecting. Also opening this weekend was ‘Saw V’, which actually earned itself $5 million more than expected.

For some odd reason people decided to still go see ‘Max Payne’, enough in fact to put it into third place. ‘W.’ has now had two weeks in a row making a round the same amount, which is probably due to the amount of buzz it has been getting as more and more people go and see it.

For everyone over 17, ‘Zach and Miri Make a Porno’ will be opening on Friday, and is sure to pack a lot of laughs. If you checked out ‘Saw V’ this weekend and you are dying to see more horror, check out ‘The Haunting of Molly Hartly.’

‘Watchmen’ Movie Poster

•October 22, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Well this is the most exciting poster of the year. If you are unfamiliar with the graphic novel, you need to go to the book store and buy yourself a copy, and read it. You have until March of next year, and if you start it soon that will definitely not be a problem.

In the poster above, which came from Yahoo, we see the Comedian falling out of a building, which sounds like a spoiler but it’s not. It’s actually the first frame in the novel, and the first scene in the movie. So not too much is given away here. This movie will be huge, and more than likely a masterpiece. Definitely one you want to check out next year. It hits theaters on March 6.
